This open educational resource (OER), WOVENtext, works with your other ENGL course textbook (either Writer/Designer or The Everyday Writer) to support your writing and communication in a range of academic, professional, personal, and civic contexts.
WOVEN refers to Georgia Tech’s multimodal approach to communication. The acronym stands for Written, Oral, Visual, Electronic, and Nonverbal communication. Why learn about more than just writing? Although writing is an essential part of effective communication, people communicate using oral, visual, and nonverbal modes as well. They also communicate with electronic/digital media, not just paper documents.
Below is a table of contents for each chapter contained within WOVENtext, as well as an appendix, WOVEN Texts, that offers a variety of student artifacts and other materials for Georgia Tech’s English 1101 and 1102 students and instructors.
